As we approach this year's holiday season, dancers of Opus II Dance Studio and Ashland Regional Ballet are preparing for another year of The Nutcracker, a beloved community tradition that brings magic, music, and movement to life. Under the sparkle of stage lights and the sound of Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, audiences will once again be transported into Clara’s (played by Lyla Metzger) dream world—filled with swirling snowflakes, battling toy soldiers, and the enchanting Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy (played by Valerie Raubenolt).
Each year, this production showcases the dedication and artistry of local dancers, from the youngest students taking their first steps on stage as story children and snow angels, to seasoned performers sharing their passion for the holiday classic. Families, friends, and ballet lovers alike gather to celebrate the spirit of the season through this cherished performance.
